Saudi Cup 2021 COVID-19 Travel and Event Protocol Safeguarding our guests

  • All international guests will require a negative PCR test from a Ministry of Health approved facility in the country of origin within 72 hours prior to travel to Saudi Arabia.
  • A special exemption linked to your visa will be arranged for attendees travelling from embargoed countries to allow direct travel to Saudi Arabia with no requirement to quarantine in another country.
  • Our dedicated travel team will greet guests on arrival at the airport in Riyadh and depending on timings, either take them directly for a PCR test or bring them to their accommodation with the PCR test arranged the following day.
  • All required PCR testing costs within KSA will be covered by the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia (JCSA).
  • Guests will be collected from the airport by fully sanitized vehicles and taken directly to the official hotels / accommodation.
  • An event bubble will be in place, including the JCSA grounds, King Abdulaziz Racecourse and the official hotels / accommodation.
  • Attendees will have unrestricted movement within the bubble.
  • All race week events such as the Post Position Draw and Breakfast At The Track will take place outdoors, within the bubble, and all attendees are welcome.
  • Post arrival, all attendees will continue to be tested regularly for the duration of their stay, with a mandatory negative PCR required within 72 hours prior to presenting at the track on race day.
  • Rigorous health and safety protocols will be implemented; social distancing, masks will be required at all times in public places and hand sanitising stations will be provided.
  • If a COVID positive is identified, quarantine will be required and the necessary medical cover/ assistance and accommodation will be covered by the JCSA, on the condition that our mandatory protocols are adhered to.
  • Quarantine protocols required on return to your home country will be your responsibility. Free PCR testing will be provided if required to return to your country of origin and travel certificates will be provided.
  • All local participants will require a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to presenting at the track on race day. We greatly appreciate your cooperation towards running a safe and successful event.
